I have just got back from the most amazing month of my life. In January ( in the midst of all the uni work I had) I decided to sign up to lead Israel tour with FZY. This would involve taking 44 15.16 year olds around Israel for a month. Despite the fact it was the hardest month of my life, I had the best time ever. The kids were amazing and great fun but so were my Tsevet (team). I had the best time bonding with them, having lots of laughs and deep conversations. I learnt a lot about myself during this time.
Dealing with the pressures of looking after so many kids is one thing, but in a country where there were risks of rocket attacks made things even harder. Unfortunately our tour was in Eilat for one night when a siren went off at around midnight. It was the loudest thing I have ever ever heard, it was such a rush to try and get all the kids into the bomb shelter. I actually heard to rocket explode ( it was about 10 minute walk from where we were staying). Although this was a crazy experience for everyone involved, it was something that most british kids will never experience.
The rest of the trip was amazing and now that I am home I really miss the kids! I have them all on facebook and we have a tour reunion soon, I am really looking forward to seeing them!
